How to Use Chlorine Dioxide Test Strips

To take a measurement, follow these steps:

1. Prepare a small sample of the solution you wish to test.
2. Dip the test strip into the sample for 2 seconds.
3. Remove the strip with the test pad facing upwards.
4. Avoid shaking the strip or removing excess liquid.
5. Wait 10 seconds and compare the strip’s colour with the chart on the container.
6. Discard the strip after taking the measurement.

Each test strip is designed for single use only.

Measuring Concentrations Above 500 ppm

If the chlorine dioxide concentration exceeds 500 ppm, the sample must first be diluted to bring it within the measurement range of the test strips.

For example, you can mix 1 ml of the sample with 9 ml of distilled water to obtain a 1:10 dilution. In this case, multiply the reading by 10 to estimate the concentration of the original sample.
